Scotland Wedding (Katy & Kevin) |
Well I made it back home from Scotland. We had such a blast. It was so special for Stephanie and I to be a part of Katy & Kevin’s wedding. Katy is more than just a bride that wanted me to shoot her wedding. Katy has been part of the JKP family for about 9 years now. She was my first employee I ever hired and she is still with JKP until this day. She is such an important part of my studio. Whether she is living on the East Coast,Europe or even Egypt she has always been part of my team. Katy has accomplished so much since I first found her working in a 1hour photo lab. We are so proud of her. When she told me she was getting married I was so happy for her. Katy is like family to Stephanie and I,so we couldn’t be more excited for her. Kevin is a great guy. They are perfect for each other. They are going to have an amazing life together. Katy and Kevin met in Belgium so they thought doing their wedding in Europe would be perfect. They probably would of got married in Belgium but it’s a little difficult to actually get married in Belgium. So they decided to go with Scotland. We even felt more special when Katy said not only would we be the photographers we were also going to be their witnesses. We were their only guests. They just wanted their wedding to just be the two of them. Which I can relate to that’s exactly how Stephanie and I did it when we were married. They did some good homework from Boston wich is where they live. They found this amazing church just by doing some good online work. It was such an amazing site. The church they found was hidden off the highway in a small town outside Edinburgh. There is only about 5 wedigns done there year. Which after being there I can see why. It is such a hidden church. You would never know it was there.
Stephanie was also excited when Katy told her she wanted to wear a Stephanie James dress. Stephanie loved making her dress.
Congratulations Katy & Kevin!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I’m loving the brooch bouquet by our friend Amanda with Fantasy Floral Designs.
Stephanie was also hair and makeup.
Kevin was entertaining us while Katy was getting ready.
It was fun shooting the bride and groom getting ready in the same room. That was a first for me.
The groom helping with the final touches.
Kevins parents had a card they wanted them to read just before the wedding.
Leaving the hotel.
Kevin brought an apple just in case he got hungry.
Arriving at the church. There was this great long path that lead us to the church.
almost there
How amazing was this church. We did a few photos before the ceremony whole waiting for the minister to arrive.
Kevin taking a moment,it’s almost ceremony time.
Here comes the bride
It was so cool having this amazing church just to ourselves. Such an amazing ceremony.
After the ceremony we decided to roam around and take some more pictures. We had a blast. So many amazing backdrops

It’s always such a bonus when a wedding takes me to a place as beautiful as Kauai. This was just a small intimate wedding.

They had a friend on the beach

The day after the wedding we met up for some more fun at the beach.

There’s Stephanie down there with the bride

Honduras Wedding on The Island of Timon |
» View Full Post |
This was a wedding I had been looking forward to for a long time. When my great friend Amanda from Fantasy Floral told me her daughter Cameron was going to get married on a little island off the coast of Honduras and that she would love me to be there I was so excited. I said count me in. I knew it would be a blast. So I decided to recruit a few vendor friends of mine to join me at the wedding and to make a little vacation out of it. I asked Dan from Plug Video. I figured Cameron wouldn’t mind having a video of her special day. Then I asked Carina from Flawless Faces. She didn’t hesitate to say yes. So now Cameron had a makeup artist. Then I asked Pete from Generations Entertainment. I figured it would be nice to have some ceremony music. Next thing you know we had a great team for this very small wedding on this very little island. So with my wife Stephanie as my second shooter we were ready for this special day.
There were only about 15 people total at the wedding.
When I saw the island we were pulling up to I couldn’t believe it. Talking about having an island wedding. WOW!

When the boast picked us up there was actually a wedding cake on the boat headed to the ceremony location. I guess they didn’t anticipate how rough the 45 minute boat ride to the island was going to be.

This is what was left when we got to the island.

We made a quick stop on the island of Cayos Cochinos  to get the bride ready before we headed to our little island of Timon.

The bride is getting excited

We a little friend to welcome us

Amanda made this amazing bouqet

Check out those eyes

Time to get dressed. I love this changing room.

Time to get back on the boat headed to the wedding

One last touch up by Carina

The groom is already on the island waiting for us.

A couple quick shots of the bride before the ceremony

I just love this water

All the sisters

Here I am in action. I wish I could always shoot weddings with board shorts on.

I knew Amanda from Fantasy Floral would come up with something great for the ceremony site.

I had to get a shot with the bride

I love it that after the ceremony people were jumping in the water. It was great. Amanda didn’t waste any time.

Next stop was another small island for lunch. Off we go.

Anybody for some fresh lobster just caught that morning

Just another day at the office

There is Dan from Plug in action

Dan in action I love the little kid looking over his shoulder

Two more sisters still to get married. I can’t wait to see where they want to get married.

Cameron wanted to get behind the camera. She is actually pretty good. I might have to take her on a couple weddings next year. She grabbed a cool shot of Stephanie and I.

Cameron was loving it.

It was such an amazing day. Everybody had a blast.
Here are all the guests. Not a bad spot for a group shot.

Over the last week I’ve been hanging out in Cabo San Lucas. I was lucky enough to book 2 weddings in the same week. The first one took place on Saturday July 18th. It took place at the beautiful Cabo Azul Resort.
I knew it was going to be a fun day especially when I saw all the fun shoes.

Victoria and her girls were so great. It was around 100 degrees when we headed outside. That didn’t stop them.

Jonathon loved his gift! A For His Eye’s Only Album.

The guys got a visit from a couple bridesmaids wrapped n towels. I don’t think they had a problem with it.

I really loved how we ended the night. I wish I could end every wedding this way. I was in the pool taking this shot. I loved it.

There I am working the camera

This is my favorite shot. I had to get a group shot of all of us in the pool.

Tammy & Lance in Tahoe |

Well last weekend I had a wedding in Lake Tahoe. It was a blast. The weather wasn’t on our side though. I guess the weekend before it was 80 degrees. So we were all surprised when a crazy storm came in and the weather dropped to 30 degrees. So the ceremony was moved inside. Tammy was such an amazing bride. Even with the cold weather she never let anything keep her from having a blast. She was so much fun.She had an amazing coordinator Jeni Waters keeping everything on track for her. Great job Jeni. It was so much fun working with you. The reception was such an amazing party. They had one of my favorite band. The James Gang from West Coast Music. They are so amazing. Any of my couples considering a band for their wedding have to check out The James Gang. The also had Daniel form DV Artistry doing video. He did an amazing same day edit.
I had to grab one shot of the lake. Later in the day you could hardly see the lake because the clouds got so thick.

Tammy makes the cutest faces,

Tammy’s mom was all smiles

Lance watching his bride come down the isle

They both have such great parents

They also have some great friends

I was only able to get the wedding party outside for about 5 minutes. It was just way to cold. The poor girls were freezing. I think it was in the high 20’s at this point in the day.

Tammy’s girlfriends are so much fun

Lance was busting out some fancy dance moves

There were so many great reception moments

The James Gang really rocked

I had to put a picture of Tricia and Bret. I met Tammy at Tricia’s wedding a few years back. I knew back at Tricia’s wedding that Tammy would be a great bride. So thanks Tricia for the referral. I love getting to see my past brides at their friends weddings.

Lance even sang Tammy a song. It was great.

ALi & Rich Jamaica Wedding |

Much of the week before the wedding was raining. We were very happy to see a beautiful sunny day for the wedding. The only thing we had to battle this day was the heat. This was not your typical destination wedding. It was more like a hometown wedding for Ali. Since she grew up in Jamaica. The ceremony took place at a local church and the reception was at a beautiful property called laughing waters. Many of the guests at the wedding actually lived in Jamaica.
I just love that beautiful blue water.

Ali was so excited all day. I loved it. Here she is when she first put on her dress.

We had to race to make it to the ceremony in time.

Ali first seeing her father.

Arriving at the church

The proud parents

Rich with his mother

Ali has such a great family.

Everybody was just cracking up all day

Well I spent last week hanging out in Jamaica with this great couple. I just returned home last night. So I wanted to get a few images blogged asap. We decided to do a fun shoot the day before the wedding. They had access to the beautiful private estate called Rio Chico. So we decided to start off there for a few shots. This property is actually owned by the owner of The Sandals Resorts. t is such a beautiful property. We actually made another stop here the day of the wedding.

You knew we would end up in the water.

Check out these moves.

They were having a blast!

Ali decided to take a break

There will be more images to come very soon.
