On September 11th the Turnip Rose hosted a dinner for the Pediatric Cancer Research Foundation. It’s a great event for these great kids that are fighting cancer. The Turnip Rose goes all out for these kids. They had a variety of activities for the kids including pinball machines. They also had these amazing food stations and desert bars.
Every year they have the kids do art work for a line of greeting cards that raise money for the research.
Be sure to chec out the website.
www.pcrf-kids.org
then click on the PCRF Store to check out the cards. They are for such a great cause.

I donated the use of my photobooth for the event.I had a blast attending the event. The kids had such a blast in the booth. It is so inspiring to see these kids that are fighting for their life with giant smiles on their faces.

Here are a few shoots of these amazing kids hanging out in the booth.

A couple days in Sedona

Thursday, June 14th, 2007 -

My wife stole me away for a couple of days this week. Monday was my birthday so she said I had to take a couple days off. I normally never take days off during the busy season. Stephanie said I had no choice. I have managed to sneak in a little work. I promise to be caught up on all my wedding blogging by the end of this weekend.

Since we only had a couple of days free we had to make our getaway close. We headed to Sedona AZ. This is such a beautiful place. We found such a beautiful place to stay at. It’s one of my new favorite places.
The Adobe Grand Villas in Sedona.
The rooms are over the top. As you will see. They make you a gormet breakfast every morning. They even have an option to have a private chef make you dinner and each course is delivered to your room by the chef. So we had to try this on my Monday for my birthday. The food was amazing.

While here we also have had so much fun mountain biiking and 4 wheel driving. Mountain Biking is our new favorite outdoor activity. This is the first time Stephanie and I have mountain biked together. We had such a blast. Especially when you get to bike in such an amazing place like Sedona.
We plan on doing much more of this in the future.

Here are a couple of images from the last few days.

Day 2 we headed out for another ride. Today we really went for it. We did a 4 hour ride. It was hot today. We did have something to look forward to on our ride today. Towards hthe end of our ride was a creek to jump into. By the time we finally arrived at the creek we couldn’t wait to jump in.

The last few days have been a blast in NYC. It’s one of our favorite city’s to hang out in. We hope to spend a lot more time in New York in the future.
We’ve ate some great food and had some great nights out. Thanks to our great friend Bobby with Leather Craftsmen. He really showed us an amazing couple of nights. If you are a photographer and haven’t looked into Leather Craftsmen as your album supplier I would put that at the top of your to do list. You will not be disappointed.
Also Ira from Leather Craftsmen suggested an over the top great Italian Place. It was a total hole in the wall. Hole in the walls are always my favorite.

Here we are arriving at Franks for our amazing meal. Thanks Ira.

That night we met up with Bobby and Andy Marcus and his family for dinner.Andy Marcus is a household name for photography in New York city. His father started the studio over 40 years ago. It may have even been longer. It was great getting the chance to hang out with some local New Yorkers. Everybody was so great. We had a blast.
I wish I had a better group shot. This is the best the waitree could do.

The next day we had a great time hanging out with Derek with Derek Photographers.
Derek is also another household name in The New York area. Derek has been in business for 39 years. It was so great getting to meet photographers that have been running a business for such a long time.
Derek has a great studio located in Westchester County. He also has a studio located in the city. We had a chance to visit the Westchester studio. It was located in this great old building.

Today we started out at Katz’s. A landmark deli in New York. Bobby also turned me on to this place. It is also know as the deli where the movie When Harry Met Sally shot the famous scene where sally got very worked up. They even have a sign over the seat she sat in.
If you love a good pastrami. This is a must place to stop. The pastrami was amazing.

It’s Amanda’s birthday at the end of the week. So we decided to jump on a red eye and hang out in New York for a few days. So Amanda,Stephanie and myself jumped on a plane and here we are. It figures New York decided have a major rain storm this week. We just landed before a bunch of flights got canceled. We’ve been here 24 hours now and are having a blast.
Our first stop is to check in to our hotel.
img_3086-copy.jpg
I love W Hotels. Whenever we can we always stay at the W. There are 4 W hotels in NYC. This time we choose The W Times Square.
We decided we wanted a good laugh last night. So we headed down the street from our hotel to Carolines Comedy Club.
img_3109.jpg
This club is so great. It’s a small venue. So there are no bad seats.
David Alan Grier from In Living Color was the headliner. There was also a very funny comedian that opened for him.
Drew Fraser He was hillarious!!!!!! Be sure to buy one of his CD’s.

The girls wanted one of Drews CD’s. So we also grabbed him for a quick picture.
img_3115.jpg

After David Alan Grier’s set he was hanging out with the audiance. So we grabbed a picture with him also. He was very easy going.
img_3117.jpg

img_3118.jpg

After the show we walked around the streets. We ended up in a hole in the wall comedy club around the corner for Carolines. It was called Ha!
We ended being picked on by a couple of comedians. It was so funny.

On the way back to the hotel we got dumped on.

We are off to explore the city today. Checked back tomorrow.
