I fell behind with my blogging. Ever since I returned home from New York I’ve been on a roller coaster ride. The day after I landed I had to head out to 3 days of shooting in Palm Desert. It was a great event. I shot the rehearsal dinner, the wedding and the Sunday brunch. I had such a great time. Since it was a 3 day event I decided to take my wife Stephanie along with me. All 3 days took place at the beautiful Big Horn Country Club. The brides father has a beautiful home on the property. I was so blown away on how amazing this property was.
I owe Lauri Davies of Five Star Events for making me a part of this event. I must say Laurie did such an amazing job on this event. She was responsible for all 3 days. Everything was perfect. She really blew me away with how well everthing went. Great job Laurie.
Also Keith Laverty did an amazing job on the design, florals, linens and lighting. He really had to work under the gun setting up the tent for the reception. It came out beautiful.
The bride was really into converse tennis shoes as you can see by the ice sculpture that they had for the rehearsal dinner.

She had some custom made converse made for the wedding. They were very cool.

I think the flower girl was giving her some last minute advice.

Grandma was full of smiles all weekend

A great ceremony moment.

One of the highlights of the weekend was the gospel group they hired for the ceremony. They were amazing. i so hope to see them at many more weddings. The guests were blown away. be sure to check them out. Ray Sidney and Firm Soundation

It was such a beautiful property.

The tent for the reception was so beautiful.

The first dance.

A great father daughter moment.

For the Sunday brunch they had the gospel group back. They again blew me away. So if you think a gospel group might be a good fit for your event be sure to look this group up. Ray Sidney and Firm Soundation
They had people in tears with their songs.

It was such a great weekend. So if you are ever in Palm Desert be sure to check out Big Horn Country Club.

The last few days have been a blast in NYC. It’s one of our favorite city’s to hang out in. We hope to spend a lot more time in New York in the future.
We’ve ate some great food and had some great nights out. Thanks to our great friend Bobby with Leather Craftsmen. He really showed us an amazing couple of nights. If you are a photographer and haven’t looked into Leather Craftsmen as your album supplier I would put that at the top of your to do list. You will not be disappointed.
Also Ira from Leather Craftsmen suggested an over the top great Italian Place. It was a total hole in the wall. Hole in the walls are always my favorite.
Here we are arriving at Franks for our amazing meal. Thanks Ira.

Todays specials

Here is Amanda loving the mussels in red wine sauce

I had to try the Rigatoni and sausage meatballs. Bobby said I had to try it.

That night we met up with Bobby and Andy Marcus and his family for dinner.Andy Marcus is a household name for photography in New York city. His father started the studio over 40 years ago. It may have even been longer. It was great getting the chance to hang out with some local New Yorkers. Everybody was so great. We had a blast.
I wish I had a better group shot. This is the best the waitree could do.

Here is a good shot of myself, Stephanie, Amanda and Bobby.

We had a surprise vistor later that night. Ira happen to be in New York also.

The next day we had a great time hanging out with Derek with Derek Photographers.
Derek is also another household name in The New York area. Derek has been in business for 39 years. It was so great getting to meet photographers that have been running a business for such a long time.
Derek has a great studio located in Westchester County. He also has a studio located in the city. We had a chance to visit the Westchester studio. It was located in this great old building.

Derek and the girls.

We headed back into the city to meet up with Bobby for dinner.
Derek,Amanda,Bobby

Today we started out at Katz’s. A landmark deli in New York. Bobby also turned me on to this place. It is also know as the deli where the movie When Harry Met Sally shot the famous scene where sally got very worked up. They even have a sign over the seat she sat in.
If you love a good pastrami. This is a must place to stop. The pastrami was amazing.

The famous seat

We are heading home tomorrow. So we have to say goodbye to New York.

It’s Amanda’s birthday at the end of the week. So we decided to jump on a red eye and hang out in New York for a few days. So Amanda,Stephanie and myself jumped on a plane and here we are. It figures New York decided have a major rain storm this week. We just landed before a bunch of flights got canceled. We’ve been here 24 hours now and are having a blast.
Our first stop is to check in to our hotel.

I love W Hotels. Whenever we can we always stay at the W. There are 4 W hotels in NYC. This time we choose The W Times Square.
We decided we wanted a good laugh last night. So we headed down the street from our hotel to Carolines Comedy Club.

This club is so great. It’s a small venue. So there are no bad seats.
David Alan Grier from In Living Color was the headliner. There was also a very funny comedian that opened for him.
Drew Fraser He was hillarious!!!!!! Be sure to buy one of his CD’s.
The girls wanted one of Drews CD’s. So we also grabbed him for a quick picture.

After David Alan Grier’s set he was hanging out with the audiance. So we grabbed a picture with him also. He was very easy going.

After the show we walked around the streets. We ended up in a hole in the wall comedy club around the corner for Carolines. It was called Ha!
We ended being picked on by a couple of comedians. It was so funny.
On the way back to the hotel we got dumped on.

We are off to explore the city today. Checked back tomorrow.

Anne and Scott live out of state. They are working with one of my favorite wedding coordinators Kathy Jo Peterson. So I know they are in great hands for their wedding. They were in town taking care of some last minute wedding details. One of them was taking their engagement pictures. They don’t get to hang out on California beaches to often. So I thought I would take them to my favorite spot in Laguna.

I didn’t want them to go home without having been in the California ocean.

They are loving the California ocean

I just love Laguna Beach. The tide was still a little high today. It left us just enough beach to get some great images. Wait until you see all the fun we had.
We had some amazing light.

Here comes the high tide.

Bridgette was so great in front of the camera. You can’t even tell that she is freezing.

This wave caught them by surprise.

Down they went.

They loved every minute of it. I think they did anyway.

This is so much fun.

Look at the great smiles they still have after the beating they just went through.

There have been some high tides in Orange county this week. So it was pretty hard to avoid getting wet as you will see. In fact one day I had a shoot schedule on account there was no beach left. it was all under water.
Kelly and Mike were troopers today. As you will see.
A nice safe shot by the rocks

Another safe shot

Time to get wet

Doesn’t this look like fun
