Haridwar India

Before we left to India we had heard of the large religious gathering that takes place only once every 12 years. It’s called the Kumbh Mela. The beginning of the gathering was Jan. 14th. So since we were in India we figured we go check it out. They say it’s one of the largest religious gatherings in the world. It goes on for a few months and they say millions come to to worship and bathe in The Ganga River. Which they say will remove all of your sins. We spent a couple days there. It’s very interesting to say the least. It attracts some interesting people. Im still not sure what I think of it.

They just start fires in teh middle of the street to stay warm.

This is The Ghat that they say is the holiest place to bathe in the river. People start bathing in the river right at sunrise.
